Abbeyshrule Village Rejuvenation, Longford

Abbeyshrule, a picturesque village in Co. Longford may be small in size but it certainly packs a punch when it comes to community spirit. The tidy towns committee worked relentlessly throughout 2012 and their hard work paid off when they were crowned the overall winner of Tidy Towns 2012. The Village also went on to represent Ireland within the Entrente Floral competition this year. With the help of the Dulux Let’s Colour Project the team completed a colourful mural which depicts idyllic scenes of life along the River Inny which flows at the rear of the Rustic Inn within the village where all their committee meetings and local social events take place.
