Mosney Volunteer Project, Meath
The colourful Mosney Volunteer Project was led by the residents of Mosney who attended art classes at which they designed a mural for an exterior wall adjacent to the children’s playground at the centre. The resident’s preference was for an extremely bright and cheerful design. This mural is visible to the residents on a daily basis and the spectrum of bright colours were designed to have a beneficial emotional effect on the residents and the children’s lives during an immensely stressful and difficult transition period.
Dave West headed up this particular Dulux Let’s Colour Project and says “The project was a great success and the children of the centre all got to paint their own handprints on the wall which was a real hit with them. It also gives them a small symbolic piece of ownership of their temporary home. Thank you so much for supplying the paint – the project would not have been possible without your assistance. We have plenty of remaining paint and will be putting together another mural next spring in a separate location on the site. I will send you photos as and when we continue to use the paint donated.”
