Ballybough Community Youth and Sports Centre, Co Dublin
This year, the Dulux Let’s Colour Project is donating over 30,000 litres of paint to 180 community projects around Ireland. We believe in the power of colour to transform our surroundings and how we feel about them, and we were delighted to see that so many communities around Ireland share our belief.
Ballybough Community Youth and Sports Centre in Dublin is one of the first communities to make a difference to their surroundings with colour, and members of the youth club have been busy getting creative transforming their club with a mirage of colours. The young people involved with Ballybough Community Youth and Sports Centre took on two painting projects – the first is a mural on the interior wall of their youth room within the community centre and the second is the exterior wall to the back of the building. According to Sandra Moore, Project Leader, Ballybough Community Youth and Sports Centre, “Painting and designing the wall of the youth room will make it more youth-friendly and give the young people ownership over their space. The new exterior wall will also add to the club, and the young people will be able to show everyone in the community that they are having a positive impact on the local environment and are trying to create a nice and more colourful place for everyone to enjoy!”
